Mrs Normyle and a pupil at our school were nominated and chosen by the school to accept an award at Gamesley’s Celebration of Achievements, held last night at Gamesley Primary School.
Mrs Normyle received the award for working at St Margaret’s Catholic Primary School for 22 years in a whole multitude of roles. Mrs Normyle has seen many changes at the school in that time and has always been committed to the school and the children through significant change. In Mrs Normyle’s many roles as a teaching assistant, caretaker, midday supervisor, crossing patrol and stepping in to cover office administration – she does this with great pride and quality. St Margaret’s is hugely indebted to the work that she does for the school. Thank you Mrs Normyle x
Last academic year a pupil was with her sister walking down the High Street in Glossop after attending school. Unfortunately the pupil was bitten by a dog on her face and she sustained significant bite wounds and was extremely lucky not to lose her sight in one eye. Understandably the family were very upset by the incident and worried what effect this might have on her confidence . The pupil through all this remained very positive and in her mum’s words her daughter was the one that helped the family get through this trauma. The medics at the hospital spoke highly of the pupils upbeat attitude and she could not wait to get back to school to be with her class mates. The pupil has been very brave when overcoming this event. She has been a very brave superstar.
The Reverse Advent Calendar focuses on giving rather than receiving. We would like to do this so that our children can see that giving something is far better than receiving. There is a wooden circular basket in each school and we would like each child to donate one item during Advent. At the end of term we will donate the items to the Glossopdale Bare Necessities Food Bank. All donations are welcome and they can include items such as: broth mix, stock cubes, tinned meat, tinned potatoes & veg, UHT milk, Diluting juice, Christmas pudding, Evaporated milk, condiments and deodorant/shower gel sets.
Few photo’s from last night at Gamesley Festive Market.

It will take place on Sunday 2nd October at Glossopdale Community College’s Fauvel Rd Sports ground commencing at 11am.
