Coughs and Colds COVID
Thursday 9 July 2020
The Department for Education has teamed up with BT to give vulnerable and disadvantaged children free access to BT Wi-Fi if they live within range of a BT hotspot.
Who can get help?
Free access to BT Wi-Fi is available in England to families with children, from early years to 16, if they don’t have a fixed broadband connection or cannot afford the additional data needed to access educational resources.
How the scheme works
At the moment, the scheme is being trialled and St Ralph Sherwin CMAT has agreed to take part.
We need to provide BT with the number of families who need connectivity support and who can access a BT Wi-Fi hotspot.
Once this information is collated BT will allocate the Trust a number of hotspot accounts to be distributed to families.
If anyone requires free access to Wi-Fi please can you email firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 9 July 2020 and we can check if you are eligible.
*Hotspot Coverage can be obtained by:
- doing a postcode check on https://www.btwifi.com/find/
- checking whether BT Wi-Fi is an available network at home
