Sun Protection

In sunny weather children should bring a hat to school (a cap or sunhat with a wide brim is ideal) in order to protect the children during playtimes and lunchtimes.

A high factor sun lotion should be applied before leaving home where possible. If parents deem it necessary, pupils may bring a small container of sun lotion to apply for themselves, but this must not be given to others. Spray-on lotions, although easy for children to apply, pose a health and safety risk and should not be sent in.

Roll on block sun lotion may perhaps be the easiest form of sun protection for children to apply for themselves. This advice is especially important for those children in class 1 and 2 where they will be engaged in learning activities outdoors.
