Computing afternoons in Class 2

Class 2 have been using the netbooks and iPads in their computing lessons over the last few weeks. The children have been learning to identify examples of computers, describe some uses of information technology and they have also been discussing some rules to keep safe while using IT. I think they particularly enjoyed working in groups to simulate how barcode scanners works with computers in a supermarket and dancing along to music videos on YouTube (using computers to get active).

Class 2

In RE, the children have been learning about the Creation Story and about new beginnings. The children painted a picture of the sun shining after discussing that each day is a new beginning.
In music this week, the children have been learning about pulse and rhythm. They have also been playing a song on the glockenspiels.

The photos are of the children doing presentations today about different habitats such as urban, coastal, woodland and ponds. They worked together as a team to create a poster and then they presented information they had gathered to the class.

Anti Bullying lesson

As part of Anti bullying week Class 2 did an activity this afternoon. They said mean things to one apple and nice things to another apple. The apple they said mean things to was bruised inside and we talked about how it hurts inside when people are bullied. The children have written messages about bullying on the apples so we can make a display in class.

Congratulations Mrs Jackson

We had a very special ‘well done’ award to present in the Good News assembly this morning.  The award went to Mrs Jackson one of our TA’s who has been with us for 20 years.

Thank you for all your hard work Mrs Jackson.  One of the children presented her with a lovely bouquet.

Good news assembly

Fantastic good news assembly today with all our classes together (virtually) as well as guests from the governors. Lovely to see and hear how well the children have settled. Lots of well done vouchers for a variety of things – poetry, maths and RE to role model and behaviour. Well done to our stars of the week and special congratulations to those collecting reading badges.
