Diwali

Reception have been celebrating Diwali this week. We began by joining with hundreds of schools around the country on a scholastic story event. The author of the ‘Best Diwali Ever’ read her book and  the illustrator taught us how to draw rangoli patterns. We have created our own sand rangoli pattern and made some lovely Diwali sweets during out Tuesday cookery session .

Story writing

Class 2 will focus on story writing for the next three weeks in class. To help with this we are reading a lovely book called ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’. Today we looked at a variety of toys and discussed which were our favourite ones in school and at home. Then we got to feel swatches of velveteen and satin.  We thought of lots of adjectives to describe how they felt.

Chromebooks

Class 2 enjoyed learning using the new Chromebooks today in class.
